Scheduled Virtual Mandarin Chinese Classes

A variety of Chinese courses, including HSK test preparation courses, are offered live online year-round via Microsoft Teams. These virtual classes offer global accessibility, allowing learners from anywhere (especially Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and New York) to enhance their Chinese language proficiency. About the Teacher
Allan brings over two decades of Chinese teaching experience in Ottawa, spanning multiple renowned institutions, including DFAIT, the Canadian Forces Language School, and Elmwood School. He will lead most of the classes listed below. While the student population is diverse, all students are native English or French speakers.
In addition to teaching, Allan has spent the past two decades working as a translator. His translation work includes publishing a book for a Health Canada–sponsored project, translating application materials for CBC/Radio-Canada’s submission to the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, and translating or proofreading the Simplified Chinese version of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) website and newsletters from 2007 to 2016.
Allan is also a published author, with approximately 30 articles appearing in both Chinese and English journals and newspapers, including two articles in the People's Daily (i.e. Renmin Ribao; 《人民日报》).
